League Play & INSTRUCTION
Medway Youth Softball competes in the MetroWest Softball Association. The league is composed of teams from the following communities:
Teams participate in a division based on the player’s grade. Divisions are grades 3 & 4 (Minors) ; grades 5 & 6 (Majors); and grades 7 & 8. Grades 3 & 4 include some coach pitching to move the game along. The seasons for grades 5 & 6 and 7 & 8 conclude with single elimination playoff tournaments.
There is also an instructional program in the Spring for girls in grades K and grades 1-2 that focuses on skill building and activities designed to ease the transition into the 3rd - 4th grade program for those girls aging up in the Fall.
League play occurs in the Spring, Summer and Fall. There are also numerous clinics and training programs offered throughout the year which will be detailed on this site when plans are made.
Medway Youth Softball is committed to treating players and parents with respect and we have a series of bylaws that govern our organization. Coaches and assistant coaches have completed and passed an updated CORI check. All coaches also complete a coaching contract that spells out expected behavior, activities and responsibilities.
For those interested in learning and increasing their knowledge and enjoyment of girls softball, we have created a list of recommended web sites and online resources that have been MYS coach and/or board-reviewed.
